Description

Take part in a live learning session about ancient writing!

From Penn Museum: The ancient Egyptians believed that after a person died, the gods judged them based on their thoughts and actions in life by weighing their heart against a feather. People were often buried with stone scarabs, amulets carved with spells or incantations designed to help tip the scales in their favor. Students will learn about the importance of scarab beetles to the ancient Egyptians and how they fit into their views on the afterlife. Students will then design their own stone scarabs.
